PIXCI® Selection Guide

Note 1. The PIXCI® CL1 Imaging Board's capture bandwidth is limited by the computer's PCI 32 Bit bus. The camera's specified taps (channels) has been reduced to allow operation within the limits of the PCI 32 Bit bus. Alternatively, the capture resolution (AOI), bits per pixel, or pixel clock and frame rate can be reduced to allow operation within the limits of the PCI 32 Bit bus. (The 32 bit PCI bus has a theoretical bandwidth of 125.88 MByte/sec., and, on most computers, an effective maximum of approximately 100 to 110 MByte/sec.)

Note 2. The PIXCI® E4DB Imaging Board's capture bandwidth is limited by the computer's PCI Express x4 bus. The capture bits per pixel or pixel clock and frame rate must be reduced to allow operation within the limits of the PCI Express x4 bus. (The PCI Express x4 bus has a theoretical bandwidth of 10.0 GBit/sec., and, on most computers, an effective maximum of approximately 800 MByte/sec.)

Note 3. The camera operates in Base or Medium Camera Link modes; the PIXCI® E8DB Imaging Board only supports the Base Camera Link mode.

Note 4. The camera operates in Base or Medium Camera Link modes; the PIXCI® E4DB Imaging Board only supports the Base Camera Link mode.

Note 5. The camera operates in Base or Medium Camera Link modes; the PIXCI® EL1DB Imaging Board only supports the Base Camera Link mode.

(The PCI Express x1 bus has a theoretical bandwidth of 2.5 GBit/sec., and, on most computers, an effective maximum of approximately 200 MByte/sec.)

Note 15. The PIXCI® EC1 Imaging Board's capture bandwidth is limited by the computer's ExpressCard/54 bus. The capture bits per pixel, color space, or pixel clock and frame rate must be reduced to allow operation within the limits of the ExpressCard/54 bus. (The PCI Express x1 bus has a theoretical bandwidth of 2.5 GBit/sec., and, on most computers, an effective maximum of approximately 200 MByte/sec.)
