EPIX, INC. ANNOUNCES NEW DRIVER FOR IMAGE-PRO
AND PIXCI® IMAGING
BOARDS
EPIX, Inc, manufacturer of imaging boards and software for the PC computer, announces an improved driver that allows the Media-Cybernetics Image-Pro Application enhanced access to PIXCI® imaging boards. The new Image-Pro Sourcery Driver, combines the application-oriented features of Image-Pro with the imaging board and camera control features of the XCAP-Lite Capture and Display Program from EPIX, Inc.
The XCAP-Lite Program has a strong reputation for camera-specific controls - providing RS-232 (or equivalent) controls for more than 100 different cameras - as well as sophisticated controls for PIXCI® imaging boards. Such controls include shutter speed, resolution, frame rate, exposure (integration), gain, offset, and color balance.
With the new Image-Pro Sourcery Driver, both Image-Pro and XCAP-Lite operate side by side, sharing control of the PIXCI® imaging board. The Image-Pro user can capture images either using Image-Pro controls, or using XCAP-Lite controls. Capture parameters, such as shutter speed, resolution, and frame rate, can be adjusted through XCAP-Lite interactively while using Image-Pro! Image-Pro macros are fully supported and available to capture and analyze images!
An additional advantage to the new driver is an improved Video Preview capability for Image-Pro. XCAP-Lite, with its superior display functions, provides the Video Preview feature, displaying at potentially higher frame rates. The XCAP-Lite Video Preview also allows full screen display, zoomed display, and other display options - all in live preview mode!
The Image-Pro Sourcery Driver supports all PIXCI® imaging boards, including the SV2, SV3, SV4, D, D24, D32, and A models. It also supports the fully-featured XCAP Imaging Program which provides additional enhancements including software triggering, sequence capture, and real-time video to disk.
