| 60, 100, 120, or 200 Megabytes per second (MB/s) - the PIXCI® D32
provides interfaces for multi-output high bandwidth digital
applications including applications that exceed the maximum
bandwidth of the PCI bus!
Cameras with Four 8-Bit Outputs or 32 Total Data Bits
The PIXCI® D32 is a PCI imaging board for digital
output cameras. A single board provides an interface for up
to 4 digital outputs, or 32 total data bits, at the maximum
sustained data transfer rate of the PCI bus (approximately
105 MB/s). As an example, the DALSA MotionVision and Piranha
cameras have four 8-bit outputs for a total of 32 data bits.
These cameras operate at 25 MHz resulting in a data stream
of 100 MB/s. A single PIXCI® D32, installed in a
state-of-the-art computer system, provides video rate (100
MB/s) image capture to the limit of the computer's available
memory.
Cameras with More than 32 Data Bits on One PCI Bus
The use of two PIXCI® D32 imaging boards on a single
PCI bus provides an interface for up to 64 data bits. The
SMD 1M60-10 camera (48 bits, 1Kx1K @ 30 fps) uses two PIXCI®
D32 boards on a single PCI bus.
Capture Up To 200 MB/s with a Dual PCI Bus PC
Two PIXCI® D32 boards in a dual PCI bus computer,
captures up to 200 MB/s to computer memory. Cameras that use
this new interfacing option include the DALSA CT-F3-4096W
TDI line scan (200 MB/s, 4096 pixels @44KHz), the SMD 1M60-20
area scan (120 MB/s, 1Kx1K @ 60 fps), and the SMD 4M15 area
scan (120 MB/s, 2Kx2K @ 15 fps).
Dual (Stereo) High Bandwidth Cameras
Two DALSA MotionVision cameras (100 MB/s, 4 outputs at 8 bits
each) interface to two PIXCI® D32 imaging boards
installed in a dual PCI bus computer. This configuration allows
the real time capture of two (stereo) image sequences, 512x512
resolution at 262 fps from the DALSA CA-D6-0512W, or 256x256
resolution at 955 fps from the DALSA CA-D6-0256W.
